Hotel carpets must meet very specific demands: heavy footfall, easy maintenance, fire safety regulations, acoustic comfort and an aesthetic that is consistent with the design of the project.

Imperial Carpets manufactures bespoke hotel carpets, principally in Axminster quality, combining design, resilience and durability across every area of the hotel.

Each project is developed taking into account the intended use of the space, the hotel’s decorative concept and the technical requirements of each area.

WHAT SETS US APART

Development process

1. Idea or concept

The project begins with an initial idea from the client, the architect or the interior designer. From that point, the first design directions are defined.

2. Design development

The design department develops the carpet proposal, adapting it to the space and the decorative concept of the project.

3. Colour definition

The colour combination is developed through colour samples and textile references. We have our own collection of 242 colours and can match any required shade, including international colour systems such as ARS and Chromatone.

4. Presentation of design sheets

We prepare design sheets, which are sent to the client, so they can visualise the final result before the carpet goes into production.

5. Colour and design samples

Samples of design and colour are produced in advance (approximately 40 × 40 cm), allowing the appearance of the carpet to be verified before production begins.

6. Final approval and production

Once the design and samples have been approved by the client, the manufacturing process begins at our facilities, following the agreed specifications.

Design department

Every hotel has its own identity and the carpet must form part of it. Our design department works in close collaboration with the project’s interior designer to develop proposals that integrate with the decorative concept of each space. From design creation through to colour selection, the process is tailored to the needs of the project. We send design sheets and physical colour samples for approval before production begins.

Technical and cost optimisation

Made-to-measure manufacture is not just an aesthetic consideration — it is also a financial advantage. Imperial Carpets recommends the most suitable quality for each area of the hotel — bedrooms, corridors, suites or public areas — optimising the cost per square metre without compromising performance. In addition, manufacture in special widths of up to 4 metres allows the carpet to be tailored to the actual dimensions of each space, reducing material waste and simplifying installation. This is one of the advantages that sets us apart from a standard product supplier.

Professional installation

Many of our clients opt for our optional fitting service, to ensure a smooth and trouble-free installation.

We offer three types of technical installation:

Direct stick installation

On a smoothed floor, using levelling compound, adhesive and carpet laying.

Double-stick installation with underlay

A rubber underlay is laid between the floor and the carpet. This is presented as the most recommended option as it provides cushioning, underfoot comfort and helps extend the service life of the carpet.

Gripper rod installation

Fitted using gripper rods and underlay, leaving the carpet stretched taut. This method is used in bedrooms and lounges, but is not recommended for hotel corridors.
