1923. Crevillente, cradle of the carpet

On 12 November 1923, Mr Antonio Pérez Adsuar and Mrs Remedios Candela Molina founded Imperial Carpets on Calle Eras in Crevillente (Alicante), a town internationally recognised for its carpet-making tradition. From its very beginnings, the company has been bound to this craft, forming part of an industrial heritage that has earned Crevillente the title of City of the Carpet.

1933 · A registered trademark

Ten years after its foundation, Imperial Carpets was officially registered with the Industrial Property Registry on 18 October 1933. The brand ceased to be just a name: it became a hallmark of quality.

1957 · Incorporation as a limited company

On 20 December 1957, the company was incorporated as a Incorporated Company. What had begun as a family workshop took a step towards a business structure ready to grow without losing its identity.

1963 · Imperial Carpets beyond the loom

In 1963, the Grupo Cantores Imperial Carpets was established. The company demonstrated that its ties to Crevillente went beyond the industrial: it was part of the cultural life of the town.

1966 · Recognition for the founder

On 13 June 1966, Mr Antonio Pérez Adsuar was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit at Work, granted by the State in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to the trade.

International expansion

In recent decades, the company has strengthened its international presence, exporting to more than 20 countries and supplying hotel and contract projects worldwide. The carpets and rugs manufactured under the trade name Imperial Carpets are specified in some of the most prestigious hotels internationally.

Imperial Carpets carries out all its production at its facilities in Crevillente (Alicante), where the looms and the team responsible for each stage of the production process are based.
